The City of Texico is currently accepting applications/resumes for the position of City Clerk/Treasurer. This is a full time position. Benefits include medical insurance, dental insurance, paid vacation, sick leave. Employees participate in the NM PERA retirement plan. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred, otherwise at least 5 years extensive experience in the accounting field is required. Must be able to be bonded after employment and complete a drug test and back ground check. Experience as a supervisor would be preferred also. Responsibilities include overseeing all department financial reports, completing and providing Department of Finance reports, payroll, completing accounts payable and receivable, becoming a certified procurement officer, managing elections, attending classes for CEU credit and general knowledge of Quick Books. Attendance is required at all council meeting and cemetery board meetings.
