SUBJECT: NMML POLICY COMMITTEES – VOLUNTEERS

The Municipal League’s annual Policy Committees Meetings are scheduled for Saturday, June 24^th at 10:00 a.m. in Albuquerque.  Attached in both word and pdf format is a sign-up sheet.  You may submit your own sign-up sheet or coordinate with your Clerk or City Manager so that one sheet is submitted on behalf of your municipality. 

Subsection Presidents, feel free to forward this information to your Board of Directors or any member of your Association that you would like to have participate. Committee confirmation/appointment notification will be sent out mid-June.  

The attached Sign Up sheet lists each of the four Committees with their purviews:  CEDGOPI&HR, EE&NR, FIR&T and PS. 

As a reminder, the four NMML Policy Committees are comprised of but not limited to municipal elected and appointed officials from different sized municipalities from all areas of the state. Policy Committees meet only once a year to review previous year’s conference Resolutions and Statement of Municipal Policy, as well as any newly-submitted Resolutions and statements to be added to Policy.  Policy Committee Meetings are the first step in formulating the League’s legislative agenda for the coming year.  Each Committee will discuss, make necessary amendments and may adopt, reject or refer resolutions to the appropriate committee. If a resolution is not deemed germane to the upcoming legislative session, it may be recommended that it be addressed the following year.  This meeting is also your first opportunity to bring forth any new resolutions you wish to present and have addressed at the Resolutions Committee Meeting in July.  Proposed Resolutions or Policy Statement amendments may be submitted by Committee members, member municipalities or League subsections no later than close of business on June 16^th.

There will not be a virtual option for these meetings.
